IMPCA Purpose
IMPCA Is committed to the goals of communication and provision of information on topics related to Methanol. Communication comes through its recognition of the value of properly themed and prepared Conferences. These are held in Europe, SE Asia and the USA. They are embedded in the idea of regional conferences but in each case succeed in attracting global participation covering all major industrial areas. The European Mini-Conference was held annually on the second Thursday and Friday of June until 2019. Due to the Corona-pandemic it was cancelled in 2020, but we hope to reestablish it on June 10th/11th in 2021 in Porto, Portugal.
Singapore was an annual venue since 1989. The conference was also cancelled in 2020, but we hope to restart in November 2021 together with our partner MMSA consultants.
The 1st IMPCA Mini Promoting Conference America was established in Miami in 2012 and since then held annually in January/Febuary. For 2021 we do not see a chance to hold it.
The Association's other two main objectives have in the past been directed towards the provision of information in areas where other sources may be scarce and towards University education. The first may be achieved through the expert work of sub committees and through University sponsored studies.

The Technical Committee, is a.o. responsible for the maintenance of the IMPCA Methanol Reference Specifications, and supports with specification related information requested from members of the industry
