Clariant is offering highly innovative products for Methanol production. The catalysts exhibit high activity and selectivity for more efficient operation thus enabling Methanol production with higher profitability. The benefits for our customers are higher lifetime productivity, and lower by-product make, which leads to increased methanol yield and/or less energy consumption.

The newly developed concept of Layer Management further improves the lifetime productivity of a methanol plant. This technology improves the temperature profile of a tubular reactor, lowering the hot spot temperatures and intensifying the reaction at the bottom of the reactor.  This maximizes the utilization of the catalyst, leading to higher methanol yield and longer catalyst lifetime.
