MMSA is glad to announce the arrival of the complete 2020 Methanol and Derivatives Analysis (MDA). The 650+ page study provides a detailed analysis of global methanol, formaldehyde, methanol-to-olefins (MTO), acetic acid, MTBE, MMA, and many more methanol derivatives from 2015 through a forecast to 2025. This years analysis provides updates of all supply and demand balances, capacities to produce, pricing, and trade for this important petrochemical value chain. This is the 16th edition of the study, which has proven an authoritative and insightful resource for the world’s major methanol producers, consumers, traders, financiers, and other service providers.

The 2020 MDA considers the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on global methanol and derivative markets. Methanol demand in 2020, after growing at multiples of GDP growth in the five years from 2014 to 2019, will be essentially flat at 98.9 million metric tons, with pricing and margins compressed through the year. 2021 will see a recovery in markets, with new supply from Iran and the US that will be matched by incremental global demand, driven by China.

The study is part of a service which contains many other features, and has been made available online at www.methanolmsa.com to clients using their login credentials. For more details, please refer to the MDA section of the MMSA website and/or contact MMSA.
