About the Trainers
John Richardson, Director of ICIS insight Asia, has nine years of experience in covering the Middle East and Asian petrochemical industries, and is a well-established and respected writer and commentator on the industry. He was formerly editor of Asian Chemical News and the Singapore bureau of ICIS news.
Malini Hariharan, ICIS Country Manager, India, has over 10 years’ experience in covering Asian petrochemicals, and is a well-established writer and commentator on the industry. She was formerly deputy editor and features editor of Asian Chemical News. Prior to this, she worked in the Indian petrochemical industry where she was involved in the marketing and strategic planning for a wide range of products.
Mark Berggren is the Founder and Managing Director of MMSA. Mr. Berggren has more than 21 years of experience in the petrochemical industry. He also has experience in providing project support services such as strategic plan development, mergers and acquisitions management, programme development, and technical and market support for project finance procurement to Asian clients on petrochemicals, including methanol and key derivatives, olefins and polyolefins, styrenics, rubbers, ethylene glycol, and polyesters. From 1985 through 1996, Mr. Berggren worked at Shell Chemical. He was responsible for establishing the Asian consulting practice of an international petrochemical consultancy in Singapore in 1998. Mr. Berggren holds a BS in Chemical Engineering (cum laude) from Princeton University.
Leo Wirawan is an Associate Consultant at Methanol Market Services Asia (MMSA), based in Singapore. He leads the MMSA contribution to the weekly Global Methanol Report published by Jim Jordan & Associates (JJ&A), a partner company of MMSA. Mr Wirawan began his career in year 2000 in the Singapore Temasek Polytechnic as International Fellow with the Chemical Engineering Department, thereafter in 2002 joined Mitsui Chemicals in the Technical and Operations in the Phenol & Bisphenol manufacturing complex in Singpore; and prior to joining MMSA, he was with Air Products Singapore as Application Sales Engineer. Mr. Wirawan has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia.
